VACUUM CLEANER BAGS for New Zealand
HISTORY:
1920 was the year that vacuum cleaner bags originated. They were made of paper open necked & designed to fit inside the cloth filter bag of the vacuum cleaner. The bag assisted with as it still does today in keeping the dirt & dust particles away from the filter area, therefore allowing the motor to breathe more efficiently & maintain suction.
MANUFACTURE:
All vacuum cleaner bags are manufactured overseas.
The bags are manufactured either in European or more commonly nowadays China.
For some time now both European & Chinese manufacturers have changed from the paper type vacuum bag to superior micro fibre technology.
This is most noticeable in the domestic market & is becoming a more noted trend in the commercial market as some commercial bags are now available in micro fibre material.
FEATURES & BENEFITS OF MICRO FIBRE AS COMPARED TO PAPER TYPE VACUUM BAGS:
The micro fibre bag design & construction allows more air to pass thru the bag as opposed to paper.
This equates up to 50% more suction as air passes more freely thru the fibre due to superior filtration. This means the vacuum cleaner motor maintains suction due to greater airflow.
Micro fibre provides up to 50% more capacity as the fibres hold more of the finer dust particles as opposed to paper.
Micro fibre is highly beneficial to allergy or asthma sufferers due to much higher dust retention of the fibre material as opposed to paper.
Micro fibre bags are 50% stronger due to their construction with sewn edges as opposed to the paper bags which were glued on the edges.
It should also be noted that it is recommended to replace a used vacuum bag with a clean one & change the filters in the vacuum cleaner on a regular basis which will all assist in maintaining motor life & performance of the vacuum cleaner.
If you see on the picture below you will note how the Microfibre bags perform so much better.
